Games Rained Off

All the crap weather we’ve been having in Britain recently has meant that we’ve been unable to play football for a few weeks. Since getting back from holiday and playing football the next day, we haven’t played one game.

Our match two week’s ago against Cuxton was called off by the home team due to a waterlogged pitch, although many games in the league went ahead. We didn’t have a game scheduled for last week, and then today the league called off all of this weekend’s games as the council haven’t had a chance to paint the lines due to all the rain which is also causing pitches to be waterlogged.

So that will be four weeks now without a game, and while it’s a shame I’m not getting the run out to try and keep what little fitness I have, the lie-ins are pretty nice. Hopefully we’ll get playing soon, as long as the rain stops!
