Useless Companies

In today’s world where everyone is making cutbacks as people try to save money and businesses are suffering due to the lack of money in the economy you would think that some companies would do their best to get some income.

Why is it then that we are having problems trying to get people to do some work for us?

Our estate agent are about as much use as a chocolate fire-guard and now a company that we are hoping to get to build our fireplace are taking an absolute age to do a simple request like do us a quote for the work!

Three weeks ago we had one of their guys out to our house to take a look at our existing fireplace so that he could replicate it in the new house. After discussing at length what would be required he went away and told us he’d get a quote together and also find some sample bricks and slate that we could choose from.

And that was three weeks ago. We have phoned them four or five times to find out where the quote is and when we could get them in to do the work (we’d pretty much decided that we would use them anyway, we just wanted an idea of cost!).

Because the property is being built, and going up quickly, there is a time constraint on when we can get the work done. The contractor wants the hearth base to go in before the floor goes in which could be in a couple of week’s time.

So the fact that the fireplace company can’t do something as simple as put a quote together in three weeks puts a lot of pressure on getting the work done!
