A Visit To The Castle

I think I’ve mentioned before that we spent this bank holiday weekend up in Edinburgh, haven’t I? Our friends were getting married at Edinburgh Castle and so The Wife and I made a long weekend of it. We took in some shows at the Fringe Festival on the Friday and Saturday while we were there.

Sunday morning was spent wandering around the city taking in a couple of street performers before we went back to the hotel to change into our finery for the wedding.

Taxis were provided to take us up to the castle where we got to mingle with all the tourists as we walked up to it form the entrance. With everyone in their finest clobber we certainly stood out from everyone else. While we were stood outside the ceremony room loads of tourists started taking photos of us. I think they thought we were famous!
Eventually we were ushered into the building as we waited those final few moments for the bride to arrive in our seats.

The ceremony was really quick, over and done with in about 16 minutes. We then had a chance to mingle again and after the photos were done, we took our seats for the wedding breakfast, and then when that was done, danced the night away until 1am!

Here’s some photos of our time up there…
