Oh O2!

It’s really difficult these days to get something go right from start to finish. Whatever it is that your’trying to do, at some point a spanner will be thrown into the works. This time it’s getting our new phones up and running.

Having ordered them on Saturday, both of them were due to turn up today in our handy 4hr delivery timeslot between 12pm and 4pm. My one managed to turn up just after lunch, however by the time it got to 5.15pm there was still no sign of The Wife’s phone.

Cue another phone call to O2 customer services who saw on their system that it was still marked as dispatched so they tried to get through the courier. Half an hour later she eventually got an answer from them that it had been delivered and signed for by the building receptionist at 5.29pm while I had been holding on the line waiting to find out where it was.

So as I left the building to go and catch my train about 5 minutes later I picked up the package and dashed to the station.

When I got on the train I opened the package just to check that everything was OK only to find that they had sent the wrong colour phone. Despite telling them a few times that both phones were to be black ones, they had managed to send a white one.

Cue yet another phone call to O2 customer services to get the phone changed. At first they told me that I would have to send the phone back to them and when they had received it then they would get a replacement sent out. This meant that it could be 5 days before the correct one arrived.

Not having that, I managed to speak to someone of a bit more seniority and got them to courier out the correct black one and for them to pick the white one up at the same time. Unfortunately due to the time of the call, this wouldn’t happen until Wednesday, so The Wife will have to put up with her crappy old one for another couple of days
