A Is For Agra
Having decided to resurrect our Alphabet Dinner club, last night we started the journey from A-Z with a curry at Agra in Fitzrovia.
It was a bit of a bizarre place. The front of the building didn’t scream ‘restaurant’ and when you stepped inside it was like you were going into the front room of somebody’s house, which had been knocked through into a second room to make it a bit bigger.
The decor was quite plain, lending itself further to the fact that you were sat in someone’s lounge. They had managed to squeeze in a number of tables which was probably two too many than they should have done as it was a bit tight on space in there.
However weird those first impressions were, the food was fortunately better than the location suggested.
We all opted for various types of curry rice and naan breads and while the chicken I had in mine was a little bit chewy, the flavour of the curry itself was really good. In fact everyone said that there’s were just as nice.
All the food was washed down with a couple of Tiger beers and as is the way whenever I go out for a curry, I was absolutely stuffed by the end of it. I should never order rice and bread together!
