What Will 2010 Bring?

A new year and a new decade begins and already people are asking “what will happen this year?” Actually, I don’t know if people are asking this, I just needed an opening sentence for this post, and that seemed to fit. If you are asking this question, please let me know so that I can include a footnote to back up the original statement!

The 21st century promised so many things if films and Tomorrow’s World are anything to go by, but I’m still waiting for my hover car, personal robot butler and ‘house of the future’. In fact Arthur C Clarke was expecting us to be travelling to Jupiter by now, and yet all we’ve managed to do is to land one module on Mars and lose another one! And did you know it’s been 37 years since man walked on the moon? No, me neither!

So what can we expect this year? To be honest probably nothing much different to anything that happened last year or in those previous! Some famous people will die, one of them will be a total shock (just like pop paedophile Michael Jackson) and the media will go overboard in reporting it! And please let there not be another seance where they try to contact them! Who in they’re right mind believes anything Derek Acorah says?

There will be at least 4 natural disasters, and somebody in the church will pipe up that it’s because God’s angry at us and this is his retribution because we’ve all been bad or gay. Or both! Although it is interesting to see that the number in America has dropped since Bush was replaced by Obama!

But as long as I get my hover car, I’ll be happy whatever happens!
