The Viewer Returns
Having already come round last week, over the weekend we had a viewer come round to look at our house again, and this time she brought her husband with her. With all the hassles we’ve had with estate agents and viewers it was nice to see that they kept up the tradition of not making things go smoothly by turning up an hour early, her excuse being “I thought 14:00 was 1pm!”. Alarm bells!
They took a wander around, with the wife pointing things out to her husband that she’d noticed and liked on her first visit, asking the usual questions about costs of heating council tax and the like. After about half an hour they left and they seemed to like the place and said they’d get back to the estate agents.
And so this morning we received a call from the estate agents telling us that they’d made an offer of £136k. Not wanting to seem too keen and take it, we asked if they could push for more. They got back to us about a minute later (suspicious?) with an improved £137k. After much deliberation between The Wife and I we decided that we would accept it!
And so it looks as though we have sold our house and that we may finally be moving without all the projected problems that the estate agents, solicitors and developers have thrown at us. The paperwork is on it’s way to the solicitor and we’ve got a few forms to fill out ourselves detailing what things we’re going to leave behind for them and what we’re going to take.
