Our First Wedding Fair
Last night, after work, the fiancée and I travelled down to one of the venues we visited last weekend (venue number 2) as they were having a wedding fair that would allow us to see the whole venue made up as it would be on the actual day. At the moment this venue is at the top of our list and so this was a good opportunity to check it out.
We also had the opportunity to speak with some other vendors including florists and decorators to get an idea of what they could do to liven up the room and how much they were going to rip us off charge us for their services. The advantage of working with these people is that they’ve worked at the venue before so know exactly what can be done with the place.
We also spoke with a music company who (for a price) have a great offering to go alongside their normal DJ packages. During the day they take photos of the ceremony, wedding breakfast, etc and then in the evening have a large screen displaying the photos through the evening.
It’s a great idea but they really charge a premium for it it was about £500 extra for it!!. So it got me thinking if it could be done cheaper? After a bit of searching around the interweb I found this Pocket Projector for under £200. So if we could get people to upload their photos to a laptop after dinner we could do the same thing for less than half the price!
Now to convince the fiancée to go along with it…
No doubt we’ll be going to a lot more wedding fairs over the next couple of months to find out who’s the best and cheapest at what they do to make our day more special.
