More Wedding Venue Searching

After yesterday’s tour of Kent, we decided to investigate a few more possible wedding venues, instead of lazing around which is what Saturdays are actually designed for!

Venue 7 (if you’re keeping up) was another hotel belonging to the same chain as Venue 2 but was nowhere as nice, and more expensive so we decided that this was a no go. While on the road we decided to take an quick diversion look at a place that had been mentioned to us by a couple of people.

It had never crossed our minds that it could be a viable venue and when we got there we realised why, the place came across as a cheap motel, and although situated on a lake, it had no charming qualities about it at all! So we did a quick u-turn and headed off to our appointment at the next place.

Venue 9 looked promising as we drove into the grounds, another country house, with a big sweeping drive and great views over the Kent countryside. Inside it was all looking promising (although the cherubs on the ceiling in one room was a little disconcerting!) until we reached the 80s style bar and dancefloor.

Images of Derek Trotter drinking cocktails in a bar immediately flashed through my head as I tried to keep a straight face in front of the owner. It was such a shame as everything else seemed to tick all the right boxes.

So we were able to rule out the 3 places we looked at which in a way was a blessing as it didn’t complicate our final decision in any way!
