I Ain’t ‘Fraid of No Ghost!

After around 9 hours game play over the weekend I managed to finish the story mode of Ghostbusters, albeit on the easy setting and it’s an absolute blast!

In the game you play the role of the rookie member of the team investigating the latest paranormal disturbances, and get to do battle in familiar places – The Sedgwick Hotel and Public Library – as well as against Slimer, the Grey Lady and Mr Stay Puft himself! The game has been written by and stars the original cast members and ties in with the films so well that Dan Aykroyd has even said that this could be seen as the 3rd Ghostbusters film.

As you progress through the game you get more interesting ‘weapons’ attached to your Proton Pack, to deal with the growing number of ghosts you come across, and switching between the different options, although tough to gasp at first, soon becomes instinctive. As well as battling ghosts there are other side missions to carry out to earn those all important trophies including scanning all ghosts that you come across and trying to find hidden ghostly artifacts.

Having completed it on Easy, I’m now working my way through it on the hardest level (Professional) and boy is it fecking hard!! I’ve already lost count of the number of times I’ve died and I’m only at The Library after 6 hours of play time! It’s gonna be a while before I manage to finish it off!
