Christmas Lights At Bedgebury Pinetum

As a family you want to have family traditions that your kids can grow to love and enjoy, especially around Christmas time. Which is why over the last five or six years we’ve been visiting Bedgebury Pinetum to walk their Christmas Lights Trail. And yesterday we did it for this year.

An hour’s journey listening to Chrismtas songs gets The Girls and us in the festive mood, and when we arrive it’s on with the hats, scarves, and gloves to battle the cold. We also add some glowing bracelets to our outfits, mainly to help us identify each other in the crowds.

Each year the trail changes although there are a couple of staple ones each year, the Cathedral of Lights being one of them, which also happens to be one of our favourites. The Girls really enjoyed the blacklight-lit smokey bubbles one but who doesn’t like bubbles?

It takes about 90 minutes to walk round the collection of displays, which includes a fountain and laser display set to music from the film “Arthur Christmas”, and we also stop off for something to eat in the overpriced and quite disappointing food market.

The whole event is quite magical and it definitely helps to make us feel Christmassy and we’ll definitely be back again next year…
