Alphabetic Dinner Club

Having worked (in theory) for the same company for a few years, I’ve had the pleasure to make friends with some really nice people. Some that I speak/IM/Tweet/email with most days, and some that I don’t see quite as often as I should. As we’ve all moved on professionally over time, keeping in touch and staying close to people these days seems to be a little harder despite the countless ways in which we communicate, especially online.

Some of these friends attended my wedding last month and, as is usually the case at these kind of occassions, we all said how we don’t do enough to keep in touch and so we decided that we needed to do something about it. We decided to resurrect Alphabetic Dinner Club!

Instead of meeting in the same old places that we always seem to end up in, we start with the letter ‘A’ and have to go to a restaurant whose name starts with that letter. The next month we move onto ‘B’, then it’s ‘C’ and so on. Doing this we’re guaranteed to visit some new places and there’s less fighting about where we should go.

We actually started doing this a couple of years ago but only got as far as ‘E’ before it kind of faded away and so last night we continued where we left off and visited Fire and Stone in Covent Garden, an Italian restuarant that does really ggod pizzas!

Really looking forward to next month as there’s reall only one place to go to for ‘G’ and that’s Gaucho!
