Why Do You Treat Me So?
On the train into work this morning, which happened to be a rainy one, by which I mean the morning, not the train – who ever heard of a rainy train? Anyway I digress… We pull into London Bridge and low and behold the guard (why are they called guards, what do they guard? He’s a ‘ticket checker’ at best!) makes an announcement telling us that as it’s been raining to be careful on the platform because it will be wet and slippy.
NO. SHIT. SHERLOCK!!
I learned as a kid that water has wet properties and wet things tend to be a bit slippy. And over the last 30 years I have managed to remember this piece of information, so when I see it’s raining I take care. If someone is stupid enough to not take care in the rain let them hurt themselves. They’ll either soon learn to be careful (because they get hurt when they don’t) or they’ll end up slipping under a train in which case the world will become an ever so slightly more intelligent place!
Stop treating me like an idiot, I’m not one!
