Ubud And The Monkeys Again

After breakfast, which included birthday cake, and a swim we visited the Monkey Forest Sanctuary again to take in the bits we hadn’t seen yesterday including the ‘famous’ dragon bridge. I also bought a bunch of bananas to feed some monkeys with which is a difficult task as you try to do so without being accosted by the larger male macaques.

After another wander around Ubud (if you don’t like shopping there isn’t much to do!) we went back to the hotel to relax by our pool for a bit.

In a local village nearby, there is a daily phenomenon where hundreds upon hundreds of herons appear in the skies as they come back to roost at the village. It is a sight to behold apparently and so with the aid of a driver we headed out to the village to watch this spectacle.

Unfortunately, by the time we got there, they’d all come back and were already sat in the trees so we’d missed it!
