Trophy Whoring
Last night, the gf had her Christmas Night Out, and so that left me at home with not much to do except fire up the PS3 and go trophy hunting!
First up was Saw: The Video Game which I have been battling over the last week or so and had got to 98% in trophy stats and needed only one more trophy to actually receive two. One trophy left meant I would also receive my first ever platinum trophy! And after about an hour, the double ‘ching’ noise meant I had finally got the elusive platinum!
Next step in the trophy hunt was to revisit some old games. Buzz, the quiz game is good fun and it was time to venture online and play some of the great unwashed in order to win some trophies. I’m extremely competitive at the best of times and so playing against other people who I don’t know just puts me in my element! Managed to win more games than I lost, and added another handful of trophies as well.
Final game of the evening was Singstar which I don’t think I’ve played since last Christmas. And because I have had a replacement PS3 since then, I was unable to sing any of the songs I’d bought as they couldn’t be downloaded to a different machine (more about that later…). So I was stuck with just the songs that came on the disc and after belting out a number of tunes there were some more little ‘chings’ and my trophy count grew some more.
Trophies are an incredibly addictive addition to games and they really make you get the most out of your games. If there weren’t trophies I probably would have finished Saw and traded it in a week or so ago. They also allow you to see how you’re doing against your fellow gamers. And in my case, that is pretty poorly!
