Time To Become A Hitman

After about a year of not buying any new ‘big’ games for my PS3, except for portal 2 just to use up my Game credits, and just playing GT5 and a couple of small games downloaded from the PSN I got my hands on Hitman: Absolution having preordered it a few weeks back.

Although it sat unopened for a week as I struggled to find time to play it, I managed to get some game time over the weekend and settled in for a couple of hours of stealth killing.

I’ve not played a Hitman game before but it didn’t take long to get into the mind frame of not running around shooting everything a la Uncharted or Call of Duty. Instead it’s all about not being noticed, killing silently and completing the challenges making as little noise as possible.

I played a couple of chapters of the main story but then went back and re-played them as I didn’t realise just how much there is to do within the game. In each chapter there are a number of challenges that you need to complete: use all the disguises; complete without changing your disguise; make no kills; find all the ‘intelligence’ information; etc…

It is a lot more complex than I thought it was going to be but that just means I know I’m going to enjoy it more, trying to complete all the objectives. And I haven’t even looked into the contract mode either! Roll on the next bit of me-time…
