Preparations
Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital to have my colonoscopy and so the last couple of days I’ve had to start preparing for this by changing my diet.
I’ve been given a handy sheet that outline what is good and what is bad for me as I prepare for this hospital procedure. Basically it’s no fibre, which means no fruit or veg, brown rice, brown pasta, brown bread products , that sort of thing. Which means it’s been fairly bland meals recently of plain cereals, meat, potatoes, that sort of thing!
With the procedure happening tomorrow I had to stop eating at 1pm this afternoon and the thing that I am most looking forward to though is the drugs that I need to start taking this evening.
In order for the doctor to get a decent enough look at my colon, it has to be cleaned out and so I need to take an extremely powerful laxative which will clear out my system. In about an hour’s time I have to make up a litre of Moviprep and drink it over the course of 1-2 hours. The instructions then tell you to “stay close to a toilet”
Oh boy…
