High Speed But Same Old Service
Despite spending nearly £3,800 on a season ticket that gives me the privilege of not only traveling on their delightful trains, but gives me the opportunity to marvel at their High Speed ones, it seems as though Southeastern are unable to deliver a service that justifies this huge price!
Yesterday’s eleven minute delay on the journey to work could have been put down to a bit of icy weather, or maybe old-fashioned tardiness. But this record was shattered with today’s poor attempt at a high speed service, with the train finally arriving into St Pancreas 34 minutes after it should have done!
Add in a late running train going home yesterday and Southeastern have already managed to make me waste 49 minutes in just 3 journeys! Which is why I am now going to keep a note of how much time I have spent being late (pedantic I know). Down there on the right (no, down further, at the bottom) will be a running total of number of journeys, minutes late and whatever other figures I can come up with!
As of today then, it’s 49 minutes late over 3 journeys, so an average delay of 16.3 minutes! Let’s see how high those figures rise…
