Fixing the Yellow Light of Death

My PS3 died the other day and so after borrowing a fan from a friend I set up my box and hairdryer to try and fix the console.

It requires about fifteen minutes of hot air being blown over the console, trapping the heat inside the box and then about the same of cold air to cool it down.

After following the instructions I hesitantly plugged it in to find…that it hadn’t worked! So I gave it another try, only to find that it didn’t worked again.

Luckily I do have the PS3 insured and so I’ll be on the phone to them on Monday to get them to fix it.
