Fabulous Fridays
Sometimes I like my job. Sometimes my job annoys me. Sometimes my job makes me feel indifferent. But today is one of those times when I love it!
At our recent bowling afternoon (coincidentally another time I liked my job!) a couple of months ago we were told that come July we would get to finish work at 3.30pm on Fridays. Why? Who knows! But I’m not questioning the decision.
So it was that 2 hours earlier than normal I strolled out of the office and caught a train home. Unfortunately with the summer supposedly approaching, it meant that when I got home I had a load of work to do in the garden to make it look all nice and tidy for when (or even if) we get guests round for a barbecue.
So I spent an hour trimming the hedges (not a euphamism) at the front of the house and along the side entrance and then came the most tedious job yet, digging the moss out from between the bricks on our patio. This took a boredom-inducing two hours to do, and may have taken a lot longer had The Wife not got home and lended a hand.
Finish work at 3.30pm and spend three hours gardening or work normal hours? I know what I’d rather do next time I’ve got the option!
