Duran Duran At The O2

Last night I headed over to the O2 Arena to see Duran Duran in concert for the second time. The first vinyl* album I ever bought was Arena, their live album from 1984 (yes I am that old!) and I have seen them live previously but it’s been a while since I went to a decent concert so I was looking forward to it.
They released a new album, Paper Gods, a couple of months ago and so there were quite a few ‘not as popular’ songs among the hits they played throughout the night. They opened with the title track of the new album which got the crowd on their feet, and then played through Wild Boys, Hungry Like The Wolf and their bond theme View To A Kill.

I was hoping that they’d pay my favourite track The Chauffeur but they didn’t. Oddest moment of the night though was when Lindsay Lohan joined them on stage to sing Danceophobia. I had no idea who it was so had to ask!
For their encore, they started with Save A Prayer which was a song recently covered by Eagles of Death Metal, the band who were playing at the Bataclan in Paris when terrorists stormed the building and shot dead dozens of people. Simon Le Bon announced that the two bands have got together and will re-release their versions of the song with any proceeds going towards a charity set up for survivors of the terrible attacks last month.
Last song of the evening was Rio, one which everyone knows and so the place was rocking as this excellent concert came to an end.
The full set list for the concert was as follows:
