A Trip To Butlins

As we couldn’t face yet another Center Parcs visit, we decided to take a short break at Butlins and booked a very last minute four-night stay down in Bognor Regis.

We drove down on Monday morning and arrived around lunchtime. After checking into our hotel we took a wander around to get our bearings and find out where everything was. I’d not been to a Butlins since I was a kid and so had no idea what the protocol was.

Apparently, the protocol is to book everything you want before you get there so that it’s not all booked up when you get there so there’s nothing you want to do available!

There wasn’t a lot to do for little kids, but over the week we spent a few hours in the newly refurbished swimming pool, did some driving on little go-kart-type machines, lost Litttle E in the fairground and had a stroll along the promenade when it wasn’t raining.

The shows of an afternoon were a bit naff but seemed to entertain the kids well enough, so as long as they were happy that was OK. The Skyline Gang were a big hit with our girls and they enjoyed those shows more than the others.

Not sure I’d be in a hurry to go back there. If I had to it might be fun to try a different location other than Bognor.
