Back At The Hospital
After injuring my knee at the weekend I had to go back to the hospital today to see the fracture clinic, despite there not being a fracture.
As I am unable to drive, I had to ask my mum to drive me there and as is quite unusual for a visit to a hospital, we were in and out within forty five minutes! It would probably been quicker if I wasn’t on crutches!
The consultant I saw asked about the injury, how it had happened, etc, and then got me to lie down on the bed while he poked, prodded, twisted and maneuvered it into unusual positions to determine the problem.
And his diagnosis? It’s ligament damage. There’s nothing that he can do so just gave me some instructions to not go for long walks, no long drives, apply a cold compress occasionally, and definitely no football. Come back in three weeks to see how it is.
And then he told me that “swimming and cycling are my friends at my age“. Cheeky git!
