Breaking Out The Frisbee

After another boat injury yesterday we decided it was probably best to steer clear of motor-based water vehicles today so we spent the day on the beach, topping up the tans.

It was also the first day where it wasn’t too windy on the beach and so it was the first chance we had to get out the frisbee. This has been a staple of our holidays for the past few years but we only play with it in the water as we can dick about, throwing ourselves around without injury. Of all the times we’ve been away we’ve never seen anyone else with one. Unique in our own special way, eh?

We also went out snorkeling on the house reef again. Some of the fish are quite intimidating, there are a certain type who, as you swim over the coral, appear from underneath and stare at you as you pass by. I reckon if we stopped, they’d attack us. Not willing to try it though!

One thing that has changed in the hotel is that there are now more English people staying here now. When we arrived the guests were predominantly German and French, there were only 4 or 5 other couples that were English. Which was good because we could keep ourselves to ourselves and not have to worry about being bothered by other people wanting to chat with you.

However this week the place has been inundated with English people. And old ones at that. Apparently the majority of them are people who come back here year after year. Which I just don’t understand. Why go back to the same place again and again when there are thousands of places to go to around the world?

During dinner we overhead a number of conversations that were pretty much identical. Because it would appear as though everyone knows each other from previous visits. This makes us the outsider and as no-one recognises us, they want to get to know us. Which I don’t want to play any part of. Leave me alone, to do my thing. If I want to talk to you I will. Otherwise, sod off and leave me be!
