And Now The End Is Near

Today was our last full day on the beach and it was spent very much in a similar way to yesterday. Although this time we swapped the pedalo for kayaks.

Being all inclusive in our hotel meant we got to use some of the watersport equipment for no extra cost. And although we didn’t quite fancy the wind surfing (tried it once, was useless!) the one thing left to try was kayaking and so we popped on our life vests and each jumped into one of the fibreglass wonders and headed into the lagoon area.

The kayaks were much easier to use than the pedalo and so we did quite a bit of investigating of the area. I even made it quite close to where the large waves hit the reef and became calmer but it was harder to go against the stronger current that was there. It was quite peaceful out there and we sat for a while slowly drifting while taking in the scenery. It’s times like this that I wish I had a waterproof camera!

In the afternoon we went snorkeling again and came across the territorial black and white fish again. It was probably my own fault for trying to ‘play’ with them but at one point one of them nipped alongside me out of my eyeline and bit me! It didn’t hurt but the nip and shock of it caused me to exclaim in the water and The Wife couldn’t stop laughing! Ah well, just one more injury to add to the list this holiday!

After the sunset, we headed back to the room to do our packing. With an early start in the morning, we have to get it done before bed tonight. AS a result, our final night won’t be too extravagant. A couple of drinks after dinner and then an early-ish night. Shame really!
