A Churrascaria Meat Feast
There’s an abundance of places to eat in London covering every conceivable style of cooking and dishes from pretty much every country you can think of.
A restaurant that I have passed by on many occasion is a Brazilian churrascaria called Rodizio Preto near Victoria Station. Churrascaria is Portuguese term referring to grilled meats and in this type of restaurant you are given an empty plate and then the waiters, or churrascarias as they are called, come round the tables with skewers of all the different meats they have on offer.
There is a vegetarian option but who the hell would visit that restaurant and then not go for the meat?
We counted 11 different skewers and I think I tried each and every one of them. Even the chicken hearts! My favourite was the beef wrapped in bacon. It doesn’t sound much but it was goooood!
On your table you each have a disc that is red on one side and green on the other. You keep the green side facing up until you’ve had enough and then turn over to the red side when you can’t face pushing another piece of meat down your throat, or the meat sweats have got too much.
It was really good food, and the only downside was that I got full too quickly. The next time I go, and there will be a next time, I think I will not have any lunch prior to our visit!
