The London Landmarks Half Marathon
Despite only taking up running last year, and then having to deal with a torn meniscus and the resulting injections and physio, I’ve decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April next year
This is quite a big step up considering that I could barely make it to the top of the road without stopping for breath when I started running last year. But over the months I’ve been slowly increasing my distance and working my way up past the 5k mark. I figured that I needed somthing to aim for or else my rins would suffer from becoming stagnant. And so, having looked around for something to train for, I decided that I’d give the LLHM a go.
As the name suggests, it is a 13.1 mile (or 21.2 kilometre in new money) run around London, taking in the amazing landmark buildings that we have in our capital city. I’ll be running in support of the charity Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby loss charity, to help them to continue their vital work saving babies’ lives.
I’ve set up a JustGiving page to take donations and sponsorship to give me a bit of motivation to keep the training going from now until race day on April 7th next year.
