That’s Torn It
When I started running earlier this year I didn’t think that I’d have to stop just two months later.
After slowly increasing my distance over a few runs each week I suddenly felt a lot of discomfort and pain in my right knee one morning. Having finally seen a specialist it’s looking like I have torn the meniscus in my knee and now need to let it heal and undergo some physio to get it all fixed.
My journey to recovery starts in a couple of weeks with some injections into the knee over a period of months and then a program of physiotherapy to help strengthen the knee, cartilage and muscle.
So there’s no football or other activity for a while. Which is a shame, as I was actually starting to enjoy running on my lunch breaks. Hopefully I’ll be back soon though.
