Well Hello Forties!

Today was the first proper relaxing day we’d had in a while and probably the best way to turn 40 I can think of!

We went for a stroll along the beach in the morning but the majority of the day was spent chilling by our own private pool.

Our spa treatment for the day was a Malay massage with a head massage while The Wife got herself a hair treatment as well. That’s not really something that’s worth giving me!

All day, every member of staff that we encountered has wished me “Happy Birthday”, even the gardener! It is really lovely that they make the extra effort to do know all they can about their guests.

That evening there was a music and dance show which included the twitchy fingers and freak eyes dance once again and then for dinner, The Wife had arranged a romantic candle-lit dinner on the beach. Our table was surrounded by petals in a heart shape with candles all around. The meal included the local delicacy ‘babi guling’ (suckling pig) which consists of various pork dishes and is, well, interesting.

It was a wonderful end to my birthday, The Wife had outdone herself!
