Kristin Chenoweth In Concert
The Wife and I had a rare weekend excursion into London yesterday as we visited the Royal Albert Hall to see actress, singer and tiny little thing, Kristin Chenoweth in concert.
She really came to prominence (to us at least) when she played Glinda the Good Witch in the original Broadway production of Wicked, which we were lucky to see when we visited New York in 2004. Since then she’s appeared in such shows as West Wing and is probably more known to the younger folk of today from her part in popular High School Musical rip-off, Glee!
Our seats weren’t as good as the ones we had the last time we visited the Royal Albert Hall, but they were free as The Wife had got them through her work, who always seem to be sending emails out saying “we’ve got these spare tickets, let us know if you want them”. Your name goes into the proverbial hat and sometimes you get them but more often than not you don’t.
But on this occasion we were fortunate enough to get a pair and so we got to enjoy a night out in town, all for free!
The evening consisted of Kristin singing famous songs from shows intertwined with stories from her childhood and early forays into the world of musical theater. For such a small person (she’s a shade under 5ft tall!) she can really belt out a tune and you wonder how she does it!
The full list of songs she went through was as follows:
ACT I
Should I Be Sweet (Take A Chance)
Going To The Dance With You
Maybe This Time (Cabaret)
My Colouring Book
Dance: Ten; Looks: Three (Tits And Ass)
He’s Pleased With Me (The King And I)
