Honeymoon Day 5 – Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort

Having arrived at the Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort late last night we didn’t get to do much and so we just had a wander around the grounds to familiarise ourselves with this beautiful hotel.

This morning we arranged all of our nature trips for tomorrow and one for Sunday as well. It’s going to be a busy couple of days! We spent most of the day just lazing in the sun and in the sea and pool. Don’t think we’re going to be spending much time in the water though!

As we are only here for a couple of days there’s no chance of doing any scuba diving as they only do day trips and not single tank dives. And as we’re here mainly for the nature, it’s best to get all of that done and then dive when we get to Langkawi.

The resort has a nature reserve in it and also has 5 young orang utans that are being rehabilitated. The youngest of which is a seven month old female called Tenten (she was rescued on the 10th October last year) who is brought out twice a day to be shown off to guests. We can’t get really close as she is so young but get some good photos.

In the evening we visited the tepanyaki restaurant for a wonderous meal all cooked in front of us before we headed back to the room for an early night as it’s going to be a busy day in the nature reserve tomorrow!
