Honeymoon Day 1 – Getting There
Eventually made it to Kota Kinabalu after 24 hours door to hotel travelling. The flight into Kuala Lumpur arrived early so it meant more hanging around before catching the flight to Kota Kinabalu.
The weather in KK is cloudy with a few rain showers but as we’re only here for a sort time that doesn’t really matter. It’s just a place to sleep before flying out again tomorrow morning.
Despite being told that we didn’t need to take separate bags for our three day tour, our rep at KK airport says we won’t be able to take our suitcases with us. Apart from our small rucksacks we haven’t got any other bags which we can use, so we may have to go and buy some bags from somewhere.
After a quick nap at the hotel we worked out that we should just about be able to get what we need for three days into the rucksacks and the hotel will arrange for our suitcases to be transported to our next hotel while we’re away.
We headed out for a wander around the resort. We found the sunset bar and had a couple of drinks as the sun set, although the clouds meant we didn’t see much of it!
After being recommended to try it by a couple of the staff we had a fantastic dinner in Peppino, really good food and only £15 for 4 courses.
Got to be up at 5.15am for an early pick up tomorrow so an early night is in order…
