Off To See Rare Breeds

Two weeks off work and so it’s time to start filling up the time off with things to do.

Our first trip yesterday was down towards Ashford to take Little E to see some animals at The South of England Rare Breeds Centre. It’s a small farm-cum-zoo that has a few rare breeds of animals although the majority of animals aren’t that rare.

There are a lot of pigs and a few sheep and different types of chickens and other birds. There’s a butterfly habitat and no animal farm would be complete without a reptile house!

It’s the perfect place for kids to get up and close with a number of smaller animals but there are no lions and tigers here!

Highlight of the visit was a falconry display which gave people the opportunity to get involved with this bird of prey.
